“Taaluf” Live Brings Spouses and Family Members Closer

As part of the Ministry of Community Development's keenness to support and empower all family members, and achieve its cohesion and stability, the Ministry continues to provide "Taaluf" family free counseling services remotely by phone and e-mail as well as broadcasting “Taaluf” live episodes weekly via the ministry's instagram account in order to deliver family free counselling services to all the members of the community whether Emiratis and residents in various areas that promote family stability and community cohesion.

As part of the Ministry of Community Development's keenness to support and empower all family members, and achieve its cohesion and stability, the Ministry continues to provide "Taaluf" family free counseling services remotely by phone and e-mail as well as broadcasting “Taaluf” live episodes weekly via the ministry's instagram account in order to deliver family free counselling services to all the members of the community whether Emiratis and residents in various areas that promote family stability and community cohesion.


The Ministry has increased its efforts to achieve stability and family cohesion through its participation in the "Unified Family Counselling Portal" all over the UAE in support of the General Women's Union and enabling all competent authorities to anticipate the future of social development in the UAE, reflecting the ministry's keenness to join the portal and provide its full expertise and experience in the context of sharing knowledge and integrating roles for the stability of the family and the happiness of society.


During the first half of this year and in conjunction with the novel coronavirus-COVID 19 pandemic, home quarantine conditions and social isolation, the Ministry provided more than (282) family counselling services i.e. more than these are provided (84%) remotely through phone or e-mail as well as dozens of inquiries and consultations received during the “Taaluf” live episodes via Instagram which are answered directly by experienced and competent consultants.


In this regard, Alia Al Joker, Director of Family Development Department at the Ministry of Community Development, emphasized that the Ministry supports the family and its members to meet the challenges imposed by the rapid changes and strengthen the UAE efforts to raise the level of community awareness as a development priority to promote communication, understanding and harmony, and at the same time enhance the vision and objectives of the national family policy and family protection policy in order to achieve sustainable development based on the principles of "cohesive family.. a coherent society."



She added that "Taaluf” counseling services are available to emiratis and residents of the UAE for free who wish to receive advices in various fields (social, family, marital, educational, etc.) by phone or access to the website of the Ministry of Community Development. All our counselling services that are provided with full privacy and confidentiality up to the highest international standards, promote the dissemination of positive family culture and family awareness in the community, about (75%) Emiratis received family counselling services during the first 6 months of this year, compared to (25%) free counselling services were offered to residents of different nationalities in both Arabic and English languages.


She pointed out that the health and social conditions resulting from the novel coronavirus-COVID19 pandemic have created family challenges leading the Ministry to develop family counselling services and strengthen them through indirect channels of communication with members of the community whether electronically or through different means of communication and even the Ministry's social media accounts. The purpose is to expand the options of providing guidance, advices and counselling to help all the family members meet these challenges, support the stability and cohesion of the family especially in these exceptional circumstances facing the family and their members.


"Taaluf” family free counselling services allows all members of the community to have access to a group of specialists and family counsellors through (4) interactive channels to answer the inquiries of members of the community, provide advice and counselling services in accordance with the surrounding circumstances of each person; all members of the community can communicate all day and week through the hotline (800623), video calls, website www.mocd.gov.ae, and “taaluf” live services via the ministry’s  Instagram account @mocduae . The Ministry keeps pace with the diversified channels of “taaluf” live to promote and enhance the quality of life across the family and society.
