Ministry of Community Development Celebrates International Women’s Day

Her Excellency Hessa Bint Essa Buhumaid, Minister of Community Development, emphasized on the importance of celebrating the role of women’s giving towards their family, community and nation and rewarding them for accomplishments in achieving family stability and promoting the wellbeing of individuals, families and society. Her Excellency noted that the initiative of the Ministry of Community Development to celebrate the International Women’s Day reflects the appreciation of women and their rank in the society.


 

This was stated by Her Excellency on the occasion of celebrating International Women’s Day coinciding on 8th March 2022 with the attendance of Sheikha Moza bint Marwan bin Mohammad Bin Hasher Al Maktoum, First Lieutenant Pilot at Dubai Police Air Wing, under the title “A Woman is the Spirit of the Place” which included a panel discussion organized in Expo 2020 Dubai with the participation of a number of elite Emirati female citizens and residents.

 

The panel discussion highlighted the achievements of the woman at various stages of her life: her childhood and interaction in life and with the family, a mother in her home and accuracy in accomplishing her tasks, a daughter who harnesses her time, effort and energy to take care of her parents and devote herself to them, a sister who, with her guidance, adds comfort to all members of her family and who is close to them in all cases, a grandmother who gives her blessings, experience, tranquility and reassurance to family members, and other roles that she performs.

 

The session focused on women's achievements and family, community and national roles, where Sheikha Moza bint Marwan Al Maktoum talked about the role of family in refining the balanced personality of women, and achievements to their family, society and homeland.

 

Mrs. Khasiba Al Dahmani (grandmother) spoke about the possibilities that have enhanced the importance of her presence at home and within the family, and helped to achieve balance by playing her role as wife, mother and grandmother. She also spoke about her own vision of women in light of the present achievements and aspirations in the next 50 years towards the UAE 2071 centennial.

 

 

 

Mrs. Ayda Al Tamimi (mother) spoke about her role and the importance of what women do to balance between home and work as well as her personal experience. She also provided advice to the working mothers in support of their role in the family and community with excellence and success.

 

On the occasion of the International Women’s Day, Amina Taher (daughter) spoke about the role of the family in refining the personalities of children and impact on their future orientations and aspirations, noting the important value of achieving balance between work and home to achieve the biggest goals in present and future.

 

Mrs. Amina Ghanem (sister) also talked about the role of the sister and the importance of her position in helping family members to achieve successes and ambitions, stressing that each sister has a unique place in the family that achieves cohesion, happiness and harmony among everyone.

 

Mrs. Alissar Nasr, educator and generations mentor, spoke about the role of the family in confirming women’s success at an early stage and highlighted women changes over the years and extended journey of work and achievement.

 

Mrs. Claudia Abbas (wife) participated in the dialogue session, where she talked about the importance of balancing tasks performed by women as wives with work and employment, providing a range of advice to working women.

 

Author Verena Falkner, spoke about her role as a wife and her work tasks, as well as the social and professional conditions surrounding working women.
