Hessa Bint Essa Buhumaid: The "Family Dispute Resolution" challenge team exceeded the target in 60 days to promote family stability

Her Excellency Hessa Bint Essa Buhumaid, Minister of Community Development, confirmed that the "Family Dispute Resolution" challenge team in government accelerators succeeded in launching the Unified Family Counselling Portal" in the UAE, based on an Emirati thought aimed at providing the best for the family and society as directed by Her Highness Sheikha Fatima Bint Mubarak, President of the General Women’s Union, Supreme Chairperson of the Family Development Foundation and President of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood to provide various services and consultations to all the members of the community, which specifically to families for the purpose of promoting family cohesion and stability

Her Excellency revealed that the challenge team achieved higher than the target in reducing divorces by 75%, achieving 79.15% within 60 days according to an integrated plan and phases to achieve the desired target gradually and comprehensively whether coordinating awareness programs for different categories or by field work through assessing the surrounding environment counsellors and dealing with cases by family counselors in order to urge spouses to withdraw divorce cases and implement "Maps" counsellors’ assessment in support of their rehabilitation. 

 

In a speech addressed to the "Family Dispute Resolution” challenge team during the honoring ceremony of the achievements of the fifth batch of government accelerators, Her Excellency Hessa Bint Essa Buhumaid, said: “The government accelerators in its fifth batch, was organized in partnership with the General Women's Union under the theme of "Leadership and Empowerment of Women", the accelerators focused on important challenges and reflected many national efforts to achieve supporting national strategic goals to the empowerment and leadership of women in the UAE. 

 

She added that comprehensive efforts between the Ministry of Community Development and the General Women's Union, with the participation of more than 13 government and private entities, come within the context of maintaining social ties  promoting the wellbeing of women, supporting the stability and cohesion of the family, confirming the coherence of the society and developing a plan to reduce family disputes and problems in order to reach out confidence and responsibility in the process of sustainable development.  

 

Her Excellency elaborated that in fact, government accelerators help us overcome development and community challenges, and the Family Dispute Resolution Challenge team has been able to develop a framework to reduce disputes among new spouses, through a three-way approach: prevention, treatment and rehabilitation, by focusing on: family guidance through the development of the environment and work system in courts, in order to ensure balance in jobs related to issues of reconciliation, promote the culture of community cohesion through an educational platform, as well as improve an integrated advisory services system within entities of joint goals and objectives
